Jamie Cox of BSE was recently published in the Midwest Wine Press as a part of her continuing series “Wine Law by the Case“.  Midwest Wine Press is the first business publication dedicated entirely to the art and business of winemaking in the Midwestern United States. The goal of Midwest Wine Press is to help winery owners, grape growers and cellar masters be more effective and profitable.

Ms. Cox’ article, published on July 23, 2014, is entitled Wine Law by the Case: Advertising Rules.  The article discusses a recent Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) circular on the Use of Social Media in the Advertising of Alcohol Beverages.  In the circular, the TTB made it clear that its position is that the advertising provisions of the Alcohol Administration Act and its implementing regulations apply to social media.
